Where is La Casita ?

La Casita is 300 meters before arriving at the village of Giétroz. It is the first house of the village, beside the old Eden hotel.

Giétroz is a small village in the Vallée du Trient, near to Finhaut and Châtelard.

Access by road

From Chamonix, take the road in direction of Switzerland. 400 meters after the customs, take the road on the left, which goes up in the direction of Châtelard-Village. A few hundred metres further, take again on the left to Giétroz.

From Martigny, take the direction of the Col de la Forclaz (France). Continue on this road during about 25 kilometres. Then, 100 meters before the village of Châtelard-Frontière, turn on the right on a rising road direction Châtelard-Village. And a few hundred meters further, take on the left direction Giétroz.

La Casita is just after the Giétroz sign, on your left hand side.

Access by train

You can also come by train with the splendid Mont Blanc Express which crosses magnificent valleys, from Chamonix (or St-Gervais) or Martigny. You will have to get off at Châtelard (20 mn on foot to the lodging) or Finhaut (30mn on foot to the lodging, less straight). And if you are not a walker for two pennies, it will be a pleasure to pick you up !

Tip

If you do not feel comfortable on the small mountain roads, do not hesitate to go through the village of Finhaut.

From Châtelard, take the Finhaut direction. 100m after the railway station of Finhaut, take on the left (Giétroz direction) at the first junction. About 3 km further you arrive at La Casita.
